Open Meets

Open meets are open competition which are open to all squad swimmers aged nine and up. Generally there are no qualifying times so everyone can enter with their latest PB. You can enter as many events as you like. They normally consist of 50m or 100m events across all four strokes plus IM events.

We normally go to two or three meets a year. It is a great way to improve your PB and to bond with your team mates; they are great fun though some can be long days. Entries are often oversubscribed so we have to get our forms in early for more information contact Caroline Jamieson at OpenMeetSecretary@MildenhallSharks.co.uk. It helps if everyone returns their forms promptly!

Suffolk ASA County Competition

The next Suffolk ASA County Competition, the County Development Championships will be held at Newmarket pool on the 22nd & 23rd June.

It is important that swimmers with qualifying times for this event try to attend this swimming competition.

They will represent Mildenhall swimming club & compete against swimmers from other Suffolk swimming clubs who have similar times to them.

In the build up to the 22nd May which is the date that the entry forms for the County Development have to be submitted we recommend that swimmers & parents look at the pb sheet & see if the swimmers have any qualifying times for this county event.

It is also important to see if they have any times which are close to the qualifying times needed. Times which are close to the qualifying times can be improved on & achieved in time for the entry to go in.

We have a colour gala on the 26th April where swimmers can achieve pb times. Additionally, there is also an open competition on the 11th & 12th May at Sudbury, the 'Development Last Chance Time Trial' which swimmers can enter to try & achieve the times they need to enter the Development Championships. The closing date for this competition is 22nd April.
